Celebrating 80 years of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish
Opening Mass – Sunday, 11 January 2026 at 12.00 noon
We are delighted to announce the opening of the 80th Anniversary celebrations of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, which will begin with a special Mass at 12.00 noon this Sunday, 11th January 2026.
This Opening Mass coincides with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, a feast that marks the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry and reveals the mystery of the Trinity. It is a celebration that highlights Jesus’ solidarity with our humanity and reminds each of us of our own baptismal identity – that we are beloved children of God.
This Mass will mark the beginning of a year-long celebration of parish life. Throughout 2026, a variety of events will take place, reflecting the many dimensions of our parish community. These will include exhibitions celebrating our parish history, opportunities for parishioner engagement such as a Summer Community Fun Day, and events linked with national initiatives, including Heritage Week.
The focus of the anniversary celebrations will be to honour and celebrate the unique character of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, particularly in the areas of faith, social justice, welcome, and servant leadership.
Everyone is very welcome to attend the Opening Mass, and we would be delighted if you could join us for this special occasion.
If you have ideas for events, or if you would like to be involved in organising or supporting the anniversary celebrations, please contact the Parish Office.
All are welcome – come and be part of this special year in the life of our parish.
