The Holy Father has presented his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas (“Magnificent Humanity”). It reflects on the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence in the modern world.
Drawing inspiration from the social teaching of Rerum Novarum, the Holy Father calls for technology to remain at the service of the human person, never replacing human dignity, conscience, or compassion.
The encyclical urges ethical responsibility, protection of workers, care for the vulnerable, and global cooperation so that technological progress may foster justice, peace, and authentic human flourishing rather than domination or exclusion.
